Our Programs

At Craftizen, we have seen how craft can become a source of meaningful work, confidence and hope for the future.

Our four programs have grown from listening to the people and communities we work with. While each responds to a different need, they share one purpose: creating inclusive, dignified and market-linked livelihood opportunities through craft.

Some strengthen vocational organisations and women-led enterprises. Others help traditional skills find new relevance or connect artisan communities with contemporary industry.

Each program is shaped by its own context but all four are rooted in the belief that lasting change begins with people, their abilities and the opportunities available to them.

Petalists Livelihood Program

Petalists builds ability-led vocational pathways for adults with intellectual disabilities. Working through partner organisations across India, the program strengthens training, product development, production systems and market access enabling adults with intellectual disabilities to participate in meaningful, income-generating work.

Swayam
Shakti

Swayam Shakti artisans working together

Swayam Shakti brings flexible, community based livelihood opportunities closer to women in urban, rural and tribal communities. Through practical skills, local production, enterprise support and market connections, the program helps women earn incomes while strengthening their confidence and participation within their families and communities.

Punar
Hunar

Hand-painted traditional masks

Punar Hunar renews traditional skills by connecting craft knowledge with contemporary design, tourism and evolving markets. Through craft revival and tourism-linked interventions, the program works with artisan communities to develop new expressions and applications for their skills while widening livelihood opportunities.

Craftizen Innovation Challenge

The Craftizen Innovation Challenge (CIC) connects artisan communities, designers and industry around real product requirements.

Built around real industry briefs, CIC takes craft-led ideas from concept and prototype to production creating contemporary applications for Indian craft and new market opportunities for artisans.
