Petalists Livelihood Program

Our flagship livelihood initiative which we initiated in 2016, the "Petalists" program is today India’s largest vocational training initiative for craft-based livelihoods for adults with intellectual disability (ID).

Objective

Empowering adults with intellectual disability to create unique products from discard materials such as temple flowers, paper waste, and fabric leftovers. This initiative not only provides dignified work and regular incomes but also tailors skills to match individual abilities, making every artisan feel valued and included.

Brand

Craftizen has transformed this initiative into a pan-India brand called Petalists, to celebrate our adults with intellectual disability who recycle Temple Flowers. This is a collaborative brand, used by all of our NGO and institutional partners across the country to promote the unique range of products created under this program including Holi Colours, Incense Sticks, Festive Hampers and Flo-dust (proprietary material) items.

Collaborative Initiative

We onboard like-minded NGOs and institutions (such as NIMHANS) in order to execute programs at scale, enabling wider reach and impact. The program leverages on the strength of our partners for on-ground execution coupled with our expertise in designing & delivering a program that is committed to enabling dignified liveihoods.

We provide our NGO partners with training programs, all necessary tools & equipment, designs & technical inputs, capacity building on production & management and continuous guidance.
